The Coffee Bar, located on the square, is very different from other coffee shops that I’ve been to being one of the first coffee shops that offers more than just coffee and food. The Coffee Bar is the perfect choice if you need something other than caffeine to take the edge off. At The Coffee Bar you can get an alcoholic beverage while you study which fits in to the square’s aesthetic catering to the college demographic.
They have a good amount of drinks and food. Something I really liked about The Coffee Bar is that they have a promotion called B.Y.O.M – Bring Your Own Mug – which gives you an additional 10% off your coffee purchase when you bring your own mug. Their coffee is decently priced as well. The most expensive drink was $7.00 for a full French Pressed coffee. Besides that majority of their coffee beverages are $5.00 and under. Now, their alcoholic beverages are on a differently level. They sell by the glass or bottle. They have a wide range of wines and brews all from Texas. I got The Blondie which contains a shot of expresso with steamed milk, honey, cinnamon and vanilla. It wasn’t very sweet but very rich.
It’s also one of the few coffee shops that stays open late. Which is perfect for night owls like me that like to wait until the last minute to study. I went on a Sunday night and it was surprisingly pretty busy but the environment was very peaceful. The shop was dimly lit and the music wasn’t played too loudly so it was really the perfect atmosphere to study. I would definitely recommend The Coffee Bar to bobcats that are balling on a budget.
